Hannah Woelfling, a junior at Millersville, won the women's discus throw crown with an opening-round mark of 167 feet (50.91m) at the NCAA Division 2 Championships at Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl Stadium in Pueblo, Colo. Woelfling, who rebounded from enduring three fouls in the discus at last year's final at Grand Valley State in Michigan, became the only female champion in program history and secured the first title since Karl Bivans captured the 1971 men's discus throw championship with a 171-4 (52.22m) effort. Woelfling also secured second in the hammer throw final with an opening-round performance of 203-4 (61.98m).
